All Charleston Police Officers Will Have Body Cameras Soon

Charleston police officers are about to wear body cameras. Each camera costs about $1000, and will be constantly on and recording when the officers are on duty. WCHS TV reports a handful of officers have the body cameras now, but by the end of the fall all Charleston officers will be wearing them. Research has shown that the presence of body cameras reduces use of force by officers along with complaints filed against police.
