West Virginia State Senator Mitch Carmichael will become the next Senate president. The Senate Majority leader received enough votes to take over the position and his opposition has conceded. He will be formally nominated by the Republican Caucus the first week of December and a full Senate vote takes place on January 11th when the Legislature heads into its next session.
