Miners Protection Act

Governor Tomblin is urging Congress to pass the Miners Protection Act. The legislation is supported by Senators Joe Manchin and Shelley Moore Capito and would protect health care benefits for retired coal miners and their families. Tomblin said yesterday he’s hoping fo quick approval of the law as health care benefits are set to expire by year’s end for thousands of retired miners. He added that the benefits were promised to the workers and promises should be kept.
