Grant Money to Help Nitro Sidewalks

Sidewalks in Nitro are getting much-needed upgrades. The City of Nitro recently got a $50,000 grant that will help fix cracks and replace sidewalks, but it will be a gradual process. The grant covers the design for new sidewalks from the 2nd Avenue side of City Hall to 20th Street, then to Bank Street. After the design phase, the city is expected to apply for new grant money to cover construction costs. It will be a gradual process that won’t likely be complete until 2022 or after.
