Half of Day for State Employees Friday
This Friday will be a half day for state employees leading into the Christmas weekend. Governor Tomblin issued a proclamation that gives West Virginia state employees a half day of work on Friday, which will be wrapped around a full holiday Monday. West Virginia Code provides that when Christmas Day falls on a Sunday, the following Monday is observed as the official state holiday. The proclamation has no effect on private business, local government or others not employed by the State of West Virginia.
