Head Start Program
A recent study conducted by the National Institute for Early Education Research shows West Virginia is doing great in its Head Start program. Our state was the only one that had 90-percent or more of Head Start teachers with at least a bachelor’s degree, and the second highest state with enrollment for four-year olds. However, the Instructional Support score in the “State of Head Start” study could have been higher. It was below a three on a one to seven scale.
