Chemical spill in Kanawah Effects
There doesn’t appear to be any lasting impact from a small chemical spill into the Kanawha River in London, West Virginia. Between four and eight gallons of a chemical solution leaked from the Mammoth Coal Preparation Plant into West Hallow Creek last weekend, but samples found the levels were well below any health concerns on the drinking water supply. State officials also say there doesn’t appear to be any impact on aquatic life.
