Arch Coal Plans Upgrades

Arch Coal will soon have to upgrade their operations in several states, including West Virginia, to comply with Clean Water Act as part of a settlement with the EPA and Department of Justice. The settlement resolves hundreds of Clean Water Act violations related to illegal discharges of pollutants at coal mines that are operated by Arch and 14 of its subsidiaries under the International Coal Group Inc. in West Virginia and four other states.
