Autopsy Ordered After an Inmate Dies

An autopsy is underway after an inmate was found unresponsive in a cell early Monday morning. West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety Director of Communications Lawrence Messina said that medical help was given to Chad Totten at the Western Regional Jail, and he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. His body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy and results are pending.
