Benches Removed After Complaints About Trash
The city of Charleston has removed several benches from a street triangle after complaints about homeless people who used them. The Gazette-Mail reports that Mayor Danny Jones ordered seven benches to be removed from the triangle after homeless people started using the benches to store their personal belongings. Poeple complained about the trash on the ground and about being harassed by some homeless people. The city had cleaned up the triangle area several times, but the problem still persisted.
