Berkely County considers adding firefighters

At the cost of more than four million dollars, the Berkeley Council is considering adding five dozen firefighters to the payroll. If the plan is approved, each of the county’s five fire stations would have 12 firefighters added to the ranks. That would mean the average fire fee of 35-dollars would triple to more than 100-dollars. The Berkeley Council could vote on the plan next week.
