Bidding is On for Former Navy Base
Online bidding has started for a former Navy base in West Virginia. The online auction for the former Naval Information Operations Center support base started Feb. 9, and a project manager says no open house dates have been set yet, but could be coming in the next few weeks. The former Navy base is vacant, and was decommissioned on Sept. 30. That ended a 60-year Navy presence in Pendleton County and shut down the state’s sole active-duty military installation. The Gazette-Mail reports that as of Tuesday, the high bid listed on the GSA website for the property was $1 million.
