Republican Bill Cole has a high-profile former U.S. Speaker of the House in his camp. Newt Gingrich was in Berkeley County Thursday night for a fundraiser for the campaign. Gingrich told the crowd that he has known Cole for several years and that he was introduced to the Senate president by Texas Governor Rick Perry.
