Blankenship files appeal to run for Senate
Former coal executive Don Blankenship filed an appeal with the state Supreme Court over the denial of his third party candidacy application to run in the West Virginia U.S. Senate race. Secretary of State Mac Warner blocked Blankenship’s bid to run as the Constitution Party candidate based on the state’s “sore loser” law. Blankenship filed the appeal yesterday, and in a statement said the law “is flawed in multiple ways.”
