Blankenship Lawyers Prep for Fall Trial
The trial is two months away, but lawyers in the Don Blankenship trial are busy getting strategies together now. Lawyers for Blankenship will try to prove he had ambitions to improve safety performance at the Upper Big Branch mine where an explosion killed 29 men in 2010. There are literally millions of pages of documents to comb through, and the Charleston Gazette Mail reports Blankenship had ordered a review of Upper Big Branch violations aimed at ensuring similar violations didn’t happen in the future. The trial begins October 1 in Charleston.
