Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old, you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

An elderly carpenter was ready to retire.

There may be days when you get up in the morning and things aren't the way you had hoped they would be.

That's when you have to tell yourself that things will get better.

"Cancer is so limited. It cannot shatter hope.
It cannot corrode faith.
It cannot destroy peace.
It cannot kill friendship.

One day I had a date for lunch with friends. Mae, a little old 'blue hair' about 80 years old, came along with them---all in all, a pleasant bunch.

Two thousand one, nine eleven
Five thousand plus arrive in heaven.
As they pass through the gate,
Thousands more appear in wait.

When I'm an old lady, I'll live with each kid,
And bring so much happiness...just as they did.
I want to pay back all the joy they've provided.

before the clock strikes midnight.

If you can remember most or all of these, then you grew up in what was possibly the most amazing time in the history of the human race. A great time to be a kid and living worry free.
