Board of Education

The State Board of Education will vote this morning on the possible takeover of the Boone County schools. The local board has failed to provide a “fiscally sufficient” budget by making staff cuts. If the state board votes to assume control of the Boone County schools, it will be the third such county school system under its control. The others are Gilmer and Fayette counties
