Boone County School Board Votes in Favor of Forensic Audit

The troubled Boone County School district has voted to audit itself. The board voted this week in favor of a forensic audit that will look for money improperly spent. School board members still have to decide which departments will be audited. This comes after an investigation into whether two bus garage employees, Transportation Director, and mechanic embezzled from the school district. More than 70 district employees have been laid off recently because of declining enrollment and funds. The Boone school board next meets on April 18th.
