Budget talks continue
West Virginia lawmakers have resumed budget negotiations with little indication of additional progress. Lawmakers returned yesterday for an 11th day of work. The session costs $35,000 a day. Counting Tuesday, the running tab is $385,000. The Senate is considering a budget taking about $200 million from the Rainy Day Fund. The House passed one taking $143 million. Either amount is almost certain to draw a veto from Democratic Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin.
