Bus Driver Shortage Impacts the Kanawha Valley
Several West Virginia counties are experiencing school bus driver shortages, including Kanawha County. The West Virginia School Service Personnel Association says it’s not uncommon, and there is a national shortage of drivers, with low pay part of the problem. It also takes 2-3 months to train a school bus driver. Putnam County schools are also short on bus divers, and they’re taking applications at the Putnam County Schools Central Office.
