CDC Experts to Help with Hepatitis A Outbreak
The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources Bureau for Public Health has asked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to assist with the response of the hepatitis A outbreak. Dr. Rahul Gupta, state health officer and commissioner of the DHHR’s Bureau for Public Health, said the CDC will station six experts to manage the outbreak beginning this week. Kanawha and Putnam counties have the largest number of Hepatitis A cases in the state.
