Chlorine Leak

A rupture in a tank car is what led to the chlorine leak at the Axiall Plant near Proctor on Saturday. An emergency management team made the determination after looking over the area yesterday. The presumed full tanker car was empty by the time the leak was fully contained inside the plant. Two workers were sent to the hospital, and the area around the plant was evacuated for several hours.
