Clay County Mayor Resigns Over Racist Tweet

The backlash continues after a racist post about first lady Michelle Obama on election night. Clay County Development Corp. director Pamela Ramsey Taylor made the post following Donald Trump’s election, and Clay Mayor Beverly Whaling responded supporting the racist tweet. On Tuesday, the Clay Town Council accepted the mayor’s resignation, and one member of the council offered an apology to the first lady, and all who were offended. Taylor is on leave from her position.
