College Enrollment
College enrollment in West Virginia is stabilizing. The state’s Higher Education Policy Commission says students entering a four-year-college is on the rise, with the number of freshmen spiking nearly four-percent from last year. While the number of entering freshmen increased, overall enrollment rates at West Virginia’s colleges and universities remained relatively steady compared to last year. Education experts call that an indicator that enrollment is beginning to stabilize following a period of rapid enrollment increases and then decline.
