Contraflow Lane to Open Thursday

The contraflow lane in Putnam County should be up and running Thursday morning. The contractor has finished putting up the barrier wall for the contraflow traffic phase along Interstate 64, but there still are some things they need to do before traffic can be switched, according to the state Department of Transportation. It’s part of the phase two work on the Interstate 64 Milton to U.S. 35 Rehabilitation Project. The new contraflow lane will affect traffic near the U.S. 35/Crooked Creek exit (exit 40) and the Teays Valley exit. Drivers in the contraflow lane will not be able to exit until the Hurricane exit (exit 34).
