Cupcake Ban Lifted at Schools
Officials have lifted the statewide ban on bringing foods like cupcakes into public school classrooms for celebrations. The Gazette-Mail reports that the decision to allow people to bring outside non-nutritional food into classrooms for celebrations now rests with county public school systems. Deputy State Schools Superintendent Cindy Daniel said the ban wasn’t in state board policy, but instead was in a guidance document sent out in 2012 that is now being rescinded.
