Deputies Investigate Murder-Suicide

Kanawha County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a murder-suicide that started out as a mssing person’s case. 61-year old Kathy Blount of Campbell’s Creek was last seen at her home on Saturday. Her son, Jason, was the last person known to be with her, and deputies say Kathy Blount was recently diagnosed with cance and her son has a history of drug abuse and has made statements he would put her out of her misery. The case is being called a murder-suicide. Deputies said the believe Jason shot and killed his mother before killing himself. The two were found in a wooded area in the Spring Fork area of Campbells Creek over the weekend, and the investigation is ongoing.
