Deputies Warn of Another Prepaid Card Scam

A man posing as a deputy is making calls demanding money. Sgt. B-D Humphreys with the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office said the man claims to be Deputy Dwight Meadows and demands payment by phone with prepaid cards. The sheriff’s office says if you have a warrant for your arrest, miss jury duty, or miss court they may tell you to go to the courthouse but not to pay by phone.
