Doctor facing federal indictment

A doctor at the Mullens family Clinic is facing a twenty-count federal indictment for distributing drugs “outside the bounds of a legitimate medical practice.” Dr. Manuel Barit is accused of writing prescriptions for opioids nineteen times to nine different people. He’s also accused of defrauding Medicare and Medicaid. Barit faces a possible $5 million fine if convicted.
