Dozens in Nitro to Lose Jobs
Several people may lose their jobs as a Nitro company closes its doors. MRC Global announced this week that it’s shutting down its Nitro distribution center as part of a company realignment. About three dozen employees at the branch will be affected. But there is good news too. The company will open a new branch in the Kanawha Valley to help support MRC’s chemical and industrial business. The distribution center in Nitro will shut down in December of 2018 and those employees will be offered jobs at the new location in the Kanawha Valley or another MRC Global facility.
