Educating Students about Finances
West Virginia education leaders are putting a plan in place to help students improve financial skills. “Make Cents WV” was unveiled yesterday and is expected to implement financial literacy lessons in 100 classrooms across the state, increase participating students’ financial literacy by 50-percent and ensure that 60-percent of state high school seniors complete a financial course by the middle of next year. The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission and The Education Alliance unveiled the initiative to provide financial literacy tools and resources to students, families and educators.
