Fayette County Schools Won’t Consolidate

Schools in Fayette County won’t be consolidating. The state School Building Authority on Monday said no to a plan that would have combined four high schools into a new one and moved students from Collins Middle into the existing Oak Hill High. The Gazette-Mail reports SBA board members raised objections over forcing Fayette schools to consolidate despite county voters rejecting a school building and renovation bond that would’ve consolidated schools differently. The state school board took control of Fayette schools in 2010.
