Fayetteville Church Faces Demolition
It’s the end of an historic church in Fayetteville unless someone steps in to buy it. The old Presbyterian Church will be demolished unless a buyer steps forward with a plan to renovate it, according to the Register-Herald. Attorney Carl Harris says the city is willing to work with the owner of the church and has granted 60 days for him to find a buyer or have it torn down. The church is listed as a contributing structure to the Fayetteville Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places, but has become worn down. Demolition would have to be approved by the town’s Historical Review Committee.
