Federal Health Secretary Addresses Healthcare in Charleston
West Virginia native Sylvia Burwell was back in the state Tuesday to talk about healthcare. Burwell is the Federal Health and Human Services Secretary and urged the incoming Trump administration to consider things like patient access, health care quality and affordability as it reconsiders federal healthcare packages. Trump has vowed to at least partly roll back Obamacare, but praised its guaranteed insurance coverage of people with pre-existing conditions and letting young adults remain on parents’ policies until age 26. Burwell and others have called the coverage critically important.
