FEMA & flood relief funding

State legislators are waiting on FEMA before scheduling their special session to discuss flood relief funding. Right now, the federal agency is agreeing to cover around 75-million-dollars of the flood damage costs, leaving the state with a 25-million-dollar gap to fill. Lawmakers are hoping FEMA will up its percentage to 90-percent. The special session will likely happen during interim meetings the third week of September.
