Financing Plan Approved for Elkview Crossings Bridge

A plan is in place to rebuild the bridget that leads to Crossings Mall in Elkview after a federal bankruptcy judge approved a financing plan. Floods wiped out the bridge last June, and hundreds of people lost jobs. The shopping complex included a Kmart and a Kroger. Kanawha County Commissioners said in a news release Thursday that the bankruptcy judge approved Tara Retail Group’s proposed financing plan. The ruling allows the contractor, David Alvarez of Applied Construction Solutions to begin work on the bridge as soon as possible.
