First day of school could be pushed back
The first day of school could be pushed back in some areas due to high water and mud inside some schools. The state board of education is working to file insurance claims, which could slow down the cleanup process at some schools. Twenty-five districts reported some level of flood damage. Eight schools have been listed as “severely damaged.” West Virginia Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Martirano says they are looking for alternative plans if some schools will not be ready for the first day of the 2016 fall semester.
