Former Magistrate’s Home is Searched by Deputies
Kanawha county deputies served a search warrant at the home of former magistrate Julie Yeager on Tuesday. WCHS TV says Yeager abruptly resigned in July after allegations that she embezzled thousands of dollars from the West Virginia Magistrate Association while serving as treasurer.
According to documents filed at the time, Yeager allegedly admitted to taking the money to help raise her children. Deputies spent several hours searching for documents and records related to the embezzlement investigation at the home located on Highland Avenue in Dunbar. No charges have been filed in the case.
