Gas Spill

A motor oil and gasoline spill into a tributary of the Elk River is coming under a closer examination. The state Department of Environmental Protection has been called into investigate how the fluids from a crushed car at Mitch’s Towing in Elkview was able to flow into the Givens Branch stream. The spill was visible, but is not thought to have a major impact at this point of the investigation.
