Gift Cards & Pawn Shops

Buying or trading a gift card at a pawn shop could soon come to an end. Yesterday, the West Virginia Senate passed a bill that would put a stop to the practice dealing with store issued or prepaid cards. The argument in favor of the new law is that the practice is a scam and a way to launder money. If passed and signed, the new law would make it a misdemeanor if pawnbrokers are caught.
