Goodwin Files to Run for Governor
Former U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin has filed to run for governor.
Goodwin filed to run as a Democrat. Late last month, Goodwin announced his resignation. For more than five years, he was the U.S. attorney in the Southern District and recently led the prosecution against former Massey Energy Chief Executive Officer Don Blankenship. Goodwin joins the Democratic race against Greenbrier owner Jim Justice, a billionaire, and state Senate Minority Leader Jeff Kessler. In the Republican race, state Senate President Bill Cole has filed to run for office.
