Gov. Justice proposes logging in State Parks

A bill that would allow commercial logging in West Virginia state parks is making its way through the legislature. The bill was introduced Monday, at the request of Governor Justice, as a way to pay for the park system’s backlog of maintenance work. Conservation groups oppose the plan, saying visitors come to West Virginia for the beauty of its forests, not to hear chain saws.
