Herbert Hoover will not reopen

Herbert Hoover High School will not reopen for fall classes. The Kanawha County Board of Education announced at a special meeting Wednesday night that the old school will be torn down and a new school will be built in its place. FEMA declared last week that the school was more than 70-percent damaged by the June 23rd flood. Over the next two or three years, many classes will be held in portable classrooms.
