Homeowner Detains Thief Until Deputies Arrive
Kanawha County deputies said a man is charged after a homeowner said he discovered the suspect rummaging through his Christmas décor on his back deck and then tied him up with a rope until authorities arrived. 36-year old Allison Edward Phillips III of Oak Hill is charged with attempted burglary after an incident Monday on Williams Street in Cedar Grove. A criminal complaint said James Confere said he got up to go to work and heard someone trying to get in the back door, and he confronted Phillips. When a deputy arrived, Phillips admitted to being impaired with meth. Phillips is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail on a $15,000 bond.
