Huntington Swears In First Female Fire Chief

The state’s first female fire chief is official. Chief Jan Rader was sworn in this week in Huntington after being appointed by the mayor and city council last month. Rader has been interim chief since December, and with the swearing-in she becomes the first female firefighter to rise to chief in West Virginia. She’s has been with the Huntington Fire Department for 22 years.
