Hurricane Firefighters Eye Recruiting Grant

Volunteer firefighters in Hurricane have a lot more money to work with. Hurricane Fire and Rescue is on track to get a $577,100 grant, awarded by the Dept. of Homeland Security. It’s called the SAFER grant, that helps fire departments add staff. The goal is to bring in a recruitment and retention coordinator to work full time, and they’re in the process of finalizing a recruiting plan.
