Hurricane Students Fly Confederate Flags
The Confederate flag controversy has been in the spotlight at Hurricane (Her-uh-cunn) High School. On Sept. 11, one student used a box cutter to shred Confederate flags on other students’ trucks at a football game. He was suspended and could be facing juvenile charges, accordging to the Gazette-Mail. Other students at Hurricane High School lined up six trucks one day last week in the part of the parking lot and waved Confederate flags. A judge ruled a year ago that the school could not ban Confederate flags.
