Juried Art Winners Announced
Three artists have won the top prizes in the Division of Culture and History’s West Virginia Juried Exhibition. Selected for $5,000 Governor’s Awards were works by Hanna Kozlowski of Huntington, Alison Helm of Morgantown and Robert Villamagna of Wheeling. The exhibit at Tamarack in Beckley opened earlier this month and features 119 paintings, sculptures and other work by 95 West Virginia artists. The exhibit will remain on display through Feb. 21. The Department of Culture and History says in a statement that 10 works in the exhibit will be bought and become part of the West Virginia State Museum’s permanent collection. Many other works at the exhibit are available for purchase by the public.
