Kanawha County Has its First Hepatitis A Death
The first Kanawha County death related to the Hepatitis A has happened, according to the Kanawha-Charleston Health Department. An official cause of death has not been released, but the health department said a family member confirmed it. West Virginia Bureau for Public Health reports 106 confirmed, probably and suspect cases of Hepatitis A in eight counties in the state as of May 18. Eight food service establishments in Kanawha and Putnam counties have had workers with a confirmed diagnosis of Hepatitis A.
