Kanawha County Schools to Cut 67 Positions

Major cuts are coming for the Kanawha County school system. The board voted to cut 67 positions at last night’s meeting. WCHS TV reports Kanawha County lost more than 700 students from last school year to this one, so the county is not getting as much money from the state next school year. With some retirements in the school system, it’s possible that those who are cut will be placed in new jobs within the district.
